The Carlisle and District Vintage Society (hereafter - The Club) was reformed on the 3rd March, 1995 and has gone from strength to strength each year. The club aims to provide a forum for owners of vintage, veteran and classical machinery, of any type, to meet, discuss and demonstrate their machinery within The Club, and also to provide an annual event that will welcome other such clubs and individuals to join in a Rally that will be open to the public as a major local attraction. The Club make an annual donation of 10% of the profits from each rally, to a different charity each year.

The rally is being held this year, 2008, on Sunday 14th September, with a new attraction this year, a Working Day. The venue this year is at Kirkbride Airfield, Wigton, Cumbria. There is ample hardstanding for entries as well as car parking. Caravaning and camping is free! Excellent onsite Beer facilities, with a dance on satuday evening free to all entrants.
